HEALTH CLINIC at Kyause Orphanage

HEALTH CLINIC at Kyaukse Orphanage Opens Thanks to Generous Donation and Hard Work from MCTA

When the abbot of Kyaukse’s Monastic School and Orphanage wanted to build a health clinic for their 200 orphan monks — MCTA stood up tall to help. To build the clinic, MCTA partnered with the USA-based NGO called One Dollar For Life or ODFL. They raise money $1 USD at a time from American school students. To help our students broaden their experience in giving back, our Student Council, SEC-2G and English Foundation students pitched in sanding and painting the clinic’s exterior. Students worked with tools to assemble and test the hospital bed and examining table. MCTA Cares is funding a nurse to provide basic care, while a local physician volunteers his expertise as a donation to the local community. We hope that the clinic will keep the orphan monks and indigent members of the community safe for years to come.
