Lower Primary – The Foundations for Success

MCTA Lower Primary Department (P1 to P3) offers the best education to create a lifelong passion for learning.  We ensure that every student gains the skills and positive characteristics necessary for their growth and development, readying them to be the future of our society, as framed in our motto: Bright Vision Success.

Our mission is to offer Singapore-standard International education as we aim for the overall development of each child as a well-rounded individual.  A good education provides the foundation to a bright future

Lower primary teachers are dedicated are trained in providing high quality international school education to all the brightest young people in the region. We are indeed a joyous and caring community with common goals; we share a vision for your children.

21st Century Skills are integrated into our curriculum to foster success.  These skills are communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity. Students at MCTA practice these skills every day, both individually and collaboratively.

The aims of Upper Primary (P4-6) are threefold: first, to be the foundation years for high school; second, prepare for the iPSLE; and lastly, optimise the students’ study skills and learning abilities.

The Upper Primary curriculum not only includes the core subject areas of English, maths, and science, but also technological and soft skills as well. Using technology responsibly is taught through ICDL lessons and particularly with the advent of our Virtual Learning Environment, it has been woven into all areas of the curriculum. Students learn to be future-ready and adapt as they participate in various activities promoting 21st-century skills, while never lacking opportunities to develop the traditional study skills necessary for academic success. Global awareness, cultural sensitivity and open-mindedness are encouraged. Behind it, all is our understanding that more is required than what’s in the textbooks to be prepared for a future in an increasingly competitive world.

At MCTA, the Primary 4-6 grades are offered at an International and Super-International level. Students studying in Super-International have more English periods and students in the International program learn Chinese and Myanmar languages. All the core subjects are taught by international teachers in Super International classes while in International classes, some subjects are taught by competent Myanmar teachers.
