MCTA Bangkok Trip 2023

After 2 years of online learning, constant hand sanitizing and masking, MCTA students finally had the much awaited opportunity to resume their program of overseas trips! On 2nd of March 2023, 19 students from MCTA high school accompanied by two teachers went on a six-day educational/adventure trip to Bangkok, Thailand.

The objectives of the trip was:

  1. To expose students to different cultures and engage in soft adventures.
  2. To remind students that learning doesn’t only take place inside a classroom or on VLE.
  3. To help build 21st century attributes and skills.

On the trip, students visited SSIS campus, interacted with LUBC students and teachers, listened to a talk on LUBC programs, participated in  an “amazing-race” activity which allowed them to go around Bangkok city to experience different modes of transport and enjoy the sights of unique landmarks around the city.

Moreover, the students enjoyed various physical adventures such as parasailing, jet skiing and rock climbing. These activities not only were recreational but also improved their water confidence level and enticed them out of their comfort-zone.

Rock-climbing helped to build the students’ motor and co-ordination skills.

Parasailing was an adventure not to be missed. All students participated and had a bird-eye view of the seascape and landscape around Pattaya. It is a good hobby for students with a great sense of adventure.

A visit to different shows in Nong Nooch Tropical Garden familiarized the students with cultures and traditions of Thailand.

Overall, the trip was highly educational in different ways and all students expressed their desire for similar kinds of trips in the future.

The “Amazing-Race” was indeed amazing and students were indeed very happy to meet up with our MCTA former students now studying in Bangkok.
